Last week - Next week
12:30 24 June 2002
Arranged to meet with LizGlasgow? and PeterGarner? re BroadbandAlton on Thursday evening. Have spoken to AltonOnline? about publicizing the campaign. They are to launch soon, so I think there is a symbiosis there.
18:40 24 June 2002
We tidied up the last Maxine? show-stopper, plus a few minor niggles (invalid chars in generated filenames...). RichardCare got a PreallocatedFileOutputStream? sorted so that the MXFFile?s are far less likely to be fragmented on disk.
Talked with PeterSchmidt? and then AlanTurner? about where to take the MXFLibrarian?. Answer is we don't know, until we can confirm what an MXFFile? with more than one shot looks like these days. So we'll spend a couple of days sorting out the design docs, starting with class and package level JavaDoc?.
BroadbandAltonPetition? up to 45 names.
14:00 25 June 2002
RichardCare and I looked again at opening a document in Java, as not running in the install directory was causing problems finding resources. In the end we wrote JavaScriptDocumentOpener? for the WindowsScriptingHost?, as that can do things cmd.exe can't, and doesn't open a command window.
Spent the afternoon driving up to Codicote to Dad's, then with him to Gateshead.
20:30 26 June 2002
Snug in Gateshead went well enough, now all I have to do is the work, parsing the EDI output and sending it to the Alpha. Great to spend time with Dad.
The AltonGazette? want to talk about BroadbandAlton.
14:00 27 June 2002
RichardCare did a splendid job of the Maxine? JavaDoc? yesterday. This morning we fixed the problem with large audio items while the VTR is hunting lock, and documented more stuff.
Idea for ToolTipWikiAnnotations?.
AltonGazette?, LizGlasgow?, PeterGarner? and I to meet tonight for BroadbandMeeting27June?.
22:28 28 June 2002
We've put Maxine? to bed for now, fixing the last few ShowStopper?s this morning. Then moved MXFLibrarian? over to Tomcat 4.0.3.
WantJava aren't being terribly helpful over giving me full access to my Tomcat. I think there's a solution around setting CATALINA_BASE, so moving the execution into my directories. I've done it on the laptop, so I can use one install to service the different projects here. Hope they hurry up so that I can try webDAV.
Spoke to the AltonGazette?, who are featuring BroadbandAlton.
29 June 2002
BritishTelecom? have announced their registration scheme.
